Why we do Global Heart
Hi, I’m Sally Meadows
I met a lady called Malati nearly three years ago and was very moved by her story.
Malati visited India over 20 years ago and was so distressed by the poverty there that she stayed there to help the tribal villages – she has remained there ever since and has set up a small charity N.G.O. (www.poor.org.in) which helps orphanages, schools, medical centres etc.
The pure dedication of this lady inspired me so much that I decided that I would help in anyway that I could. Last year we organised car boot sales, bag packing in a local supermarket, a sponsored walk, talks and two festivals on Portland – altogether we raised £2,500.
This year we are doing talks to promote this small charity and a four day festival called ‘Global Heart Gathering’ which will be a multi-faith multi-cultural event to promote the charity but also my wish to bring unity amongst different religions and cultures.
The most wonderful thing about the fundraising I have been doing is the generosity of all the people that have been involved with me over the last couple of years and I feel very humbled by the immense support that I have been given. I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you, because none of this would of happened without the assistance and support of all.
With many thanks and kind regards
Sally Meadows

Global Heart Gathering is a charity event, and all proceeds will be donated to the work of P.O.O.R, through the charity Neo Humanist Foundation UK – with its working name Neo Humanist Arts.
