African Dance workshop
with Natasha
Natasha z Player (Africa/UK) director of Z Movements creates work inspired by traditional African dance and music from Cote D’ Voire, Senegal, Gambia and Guinea. After training in Africa, UK and Canada with pioneer choreographers such as Zab Maboungou, Gaspard Zamble and Peter Badejo, Natasha continues to encourage people of all ages to take part in dance, her contemporary approach to African movement is recognised as producing dances that are energetic, inspiring and engaging.
Z Movements produces, facilitates and delivers arts events and happenings across Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset. We also offer our Dance Afrika programme delivering dance and music workshops and performances in education and community settings.

Today the workshop is for children, and depending on ages attending this is what it may include:
Mini African Movers Under 5′s
Little ones take their favourite adult on a journey to Africa;
discovering through movement and song their own rhythm,
coordination and creative expression to the beats of African music.
African dance 5 – 9 yrs
Let Africa’s culture of dance, music and story inspire your child’s creativity.
This energetic session improves coordination, posture, rhythm and timing;
learning dances and creative ways to increase your child’s imagination.
At other times Natasha also conducts workshops for adults:
Come take part in a dance session inspired by the rythmns and movement of West Africa. Introducing the simplist of movement to free your body, taking your spirit dancer on a journey and connecting with the energy of the earth.
